Renfrew Report… Arron Renfrew and AUM Receive Major Award! OR???

The Difference Between Recognition and Reputation
By Arron Renfrew | Asset Manager | Renfrew Team | AUM Real Estate

We’re the new kids on the block.

New name. New identity. Same relentless work ethic.

At AUM Real Estate, we’ve stepped into this next chapter with something to prove—and we’re not shy about it. Every listing, every client, every deal is an opportunity to earn trust the hard way. No shortcuts. No inflated claims. Just results backed by real relationships.

So yes, when recognition starts to come in, we notice.

Recently, we were “recognized” by Businessrate.com—an organization that appears to aggregate positive Google reviews and convert them into awards or badges of distinction. On the surface, that might sound like a win. After all, we work hard for our reviews. Our clients don’t hand those out lightly.

But here’s the truth:

Not all recognition is created equal.

As a firm, we place a high value on credibility. When someone sees our name attached to an award, it should mean something. It should represent a standard, a benchmark, or a level of performance that has been independently verified and respected within the industry.

That’s where we draw the line.

While we absolutely appreciate every positive Google review—we’ve earned those through long hours, tough negotiations, and real client advocacy—we don’t believe in repackaging those reviews into something that appears more official or prestigious than it actually is.

Especially when the platform issuing the recognition doesn’t appear to have strong credibility, transparency, or even a solid reputation of its own.

We’re hungry—but we’re not desperate.

There’s a difference.

We want recognition that reflects the reality of what we do:

  • Solving complex real estate problems

  • Protecting our clients’ assets

  • Navigating deals others can’t

  • Showing up when it matters most

That kind of reputation isn’t built by a badge.

It’s built over time—in the trenches.

So while we welcome every 5-star review, every referral, and every satisfied client, we’re going to be selective about how our name is represented. Not because we don’t want recognition—but because we want the right kind of recognition.

The kind that can’t be manufactured.

The kind that can’t be scraped from a review site and rebranded as an award.

The kind that only comes from doing the job well, over and over again.

We’re just getting started.

And we’re going to earn it the right way.
